Home Away From Home

Roche is the sole sponsor of the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT): Home Away From Home initiative, which is a unique program that provides travel accommodations for transplant patients and their families.

This is important because transplant-related medical care sometimes requires travel. Lodging costs can be a burden and are rarely covered by insurance. Through charitable donations by Roche, the Home Away from Home program provides rooms in national hotel chains or established independent hotels completely free of charge. While NFT hopes to assist every family in need, they cannot guarantee room availability.

To participate, patients or families should call an NFT Patient Advocate as soon as they know when the family will need a room. The toll-free number is 1-800-489-3863.
